Meet the Owner
The face behind the brand
My name is Shelby Duggan and I’m the owner of Vintage Chic Bridal Boutique!
When I opened my doors in December 2018, I had a vision to create a one-of-a-kind bridal shop in the Tri-state area and that’s still true to this day!
I’ve worked in all different avenues of the job force, but found my love for weddings in 2008 when I co-started a wedding photography business with my mom! I loved working with the brides to make sure their vision came to life in their photos! In 2011 I decided to move back to part time at the photography business and pursue a career in nursing!
In 2013, I graduated with my RN in nursing! I worked in a variety of different nursing positions in direct patient care, but landed on a work-from-home position reviewing disability claims for large companies. Working from home, I found myself never leaving the house, so I decided to pick up a part time job to get me out and about!
I knew I wanted to do something wedding related, but not as day of involved as photography! I picked up a job at a local bridal shop and I instantly fell in love! Working with brides and their vision… it was like a switch flipped! I had forgotten how much I loved working with brides! Over the next few years, I realized I had so many ideas that weren’t being utilized, so I decided to open a bridal shop that was completely different from anything in the area!
I wanted things that set me apart from other shops! Being by appointment only, taking one appointment at a time, focusing only bridal gowns and accessories, and having an affordable price point are all things that I started with and still have to this day!
I eat, sleep, and breathe bridal and I wouldn’t have it any other way! being involved with bridal is what my passion is and I’m in it for the long haul!
The Name
How we got our name
We get asked this question all the time! To truly understand the name, we have to go back to the beginning. When Vintage Chic first opened, we carried only off the rack dresses. These wedding dresses were from previous brides and other shops across the United States. Therefore, they were second hand or previously tried on. However, we wanted a prettier way to say this, so we went with the word vintage! Since opening in 2018, we've rapidly grown to carry an expansive selection of dresses! Even though our inventory has changed, the name has stuck and we still love the name all the same!
